Lovely Nights at ARCH
March 13, 2024

We had the pleasure of interviewing Sam, the ARCH STEPS to Health & Wellness Coordinator! She has been at ARCH since 2020 and we are so proud to have her as a part of our family!

Tell us a little about yourself.
Hi! I’m Sam or Sammy and I am proud Gemini vegetarian coming all the way from Yuma, AZ where I was born and from Somerton, AZ where I was raised. I come from a big family where I am the second oldest to 5 sisters and 1 brother. I moved up to Phoenix in 2016 to attend Arizona State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness. I have a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles and helping others, but if I'm not doing that you can find me playing sports, cooking, creating art, or doing anything to stimulate my brain!
How did you hear about ARCH?
Back in 2020, I was searching for a place to complete my undergraduate degree internship and I came across ARCH on the school’s page. I did a few interviews for other facilities, but I instantly fell in love with ARCH after my initial tour, so I completed my internship here and never left!
What is the most rewarding part of your job as the STEPS to Health & Wellness Coordinator?
It’s the most rewarding feeling that you can make a difference in the lives of others whether it’s through improving physical fitness, creating healthy habits, or just being a shoulder to lean on. Every day the participants make me feel like I matter and I couldn’t ask for anything more.
If you could bring three things on a deserted island, what would they be?
Water, Chapstick, and my sister Lizzy to suffer with me!
What is your favorite quote?
