The History of ARCH: 1975-1985

We opened our doors on September 23rd 1975 to 25 teens and adults in an old cafetorium at the abandoned Alhambra Elementary School on Grand Avenue.

In 1984, the ARCH building was tragically burned down in a fire.....

This event spurred the ARCH organization on to find new premises elsewhere in Phoenix. After conversations with the City of Phoenix a plot was found on Colter St, near 15th Avenue. It was at that time being used as a storage facility for the City's palm trees.

We promptly started to fundraise to build a new building that would provide a beautiful place for our participants to come to. In 1986 we started to build....
